🍻 Press Release 🍻
Oktoberfest Sunshine Coast has spent hours researching large scale events and believe they have the formula to ensure the 2019 event will hit new heights. Event director, local to the Coast for 40 years, is dedicated to making “Oktoberfest on the Coast” one of the most successful and enjoyable events on the calendar.
The inaugural German themed event last October held at the Kawana Sports Precinct saw almost 5000 people dress up in traditional Bavarian dress and experience German food, dance, music and consumed 10,000 litres of German beer and wine. Last year's event was a massive learning curve for us and we have certainly done our homework to deliver an improved festival, particularly in service.
This year Oktoberfest on the Coast will see the oldest brewery in the world take control and deliver up to six bars with faster service, the addition of can bars, also keeping with Oktoberfest traditions and offering multiple draught bars. With over 100 years of Oktoberfest experience, Weihenstephan, have really stepped up support and we are excited to have them on board.
We want people to experience the Oktoberfest vibe and true Munich atmosphere, the real Oktoberfest is busy, loud and an endless amount of fun. Entertainment this year will see two large stages, offering a variety of performances to suit all demographics. Inside the main Weihenstephan Beer Hall you will see the more traditional German entertainment - a number of Brass German bands playing your favourite covers, including some traditional German favourites and outside we will supplement the entertainment with a new DJ zone. Local Dj’s will play nonstop music leading into the evening, followed by top aussie Djs Odd Mob and Sydney’s KLP to headline the stage. 2019 will once again have plenty of German food on offer, including plenty of Bratwurst and pretzels.
To minimise service times this year’s event will make the purchasing of food & beverage more efficient by offering a different payment method, Tap & Go!
Oktoberfest 2019 will be held on October 26th and will be an 18+ event. Previous attendees will be rewarded with a 48 hour super early bird sale, June 6th ticket sales will allow 2018 attendees to purchase tickets 50% off for general admission full retail price. Every early bird purchase will offer the opportunity to win a trip for two people valued at $10000 to the Oktoberfest in Munich in 2019 and visit the world’s oldest brewery Weihenstephan. General admission tickets will go on sale to the public on June 13th.
